I’m not excusing this dad’s decision, but when you look at corporate America then you can see why this happens. He only gets 5 days a year paid leave, he can’t just take annual leave off work and if he calls off he’ll lose his job. Here in the UK we get 28 days paid holiday leave every year, I’ve just booked my last 140 hours left for this year. Currently got 10 days paid leave off work. American needs to do better.
