Durban-born South African artist Anastasia Pather has a unique way of using hands rather than brushes to explore identity, memory and belonging in her artwork on canvas.

A mixed-media artist, Pather's first solo museum exhibition, entitled "Mother Tongue", opened at Kimberley's William Humphreys Art Gallery this week.
