I remember seeing the first tower fall in choir. my classmate's face is like a snapshot in my mind. she turned away with her hand over her mouth and burst into tears. the bell had just rung for choir, but the two of us lingered just long enough to see it happen. it was the realization that thousands of people just died right in front of our eyes, in a matter of seconds.
I remember that morning well CNN was reporting the first tower and the reporter had his back to it and people watching saw the second plane fly in and hit the other Trade building. The day this country changed.

A plane hit the first tower, the second tower management underplayed the threat (probably understandable on the moment) people were instructed that it was probably fine and they could go back to work or leave if need be. 2nd plane hit people dead. CIA was getting charges ready in building 7 to be blown later.
