LGE 2026 | MK Party members claim candidate list alterations

MKP members marched in Durban, in KwaZulu-Natal, after discovering that candidates voted for and approved at the local level were allegedly replaced on the final lists submitted to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).

MKP leader Jacob Zuma removed Zandile Hlophe-Mkhwanazi as the eThekwini mayoral candidate just 12 days after her unveiling.

She and senior official Sibonelo Maphumulo are being investigated for their alleged roles in altering the candidate lists submitted to the IEC.
