Does BRICS need a Western member?

In an IGR x CGTN x RT joint broadcast, CGTN's Xu Qinduo, IGR Media's Palki Sharma and RT India's Runjhun Sharma debate the pace and criteria for the bloc's expansion. Does BRICS need to include a Western member to prove it is truly multilateral? Xu says the door isn't closed – as long as new members align with BRICS principles of development, sovereign equality and non-interference. "But I don't see that happening in the near future."
