'Cat' Matlala Case | Attempted murder trial-within-a-trial

Sergeant Mayisela Ledwaba is the latest state witness expected to testify virtually in the attempted murder trial-within-a-trial of Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and four others at the Johannesburg High Court today.

Ledwaba was among the police officers at the scene when alleged hitmanMusaKekana was arrested in 2024.

His testimony is expected to focus on the events surrounding Kekana's arrest, including the movement of police vehicles on the day.
Kekana claims that police assaulted him and failed to explain his rights during the arrest.

He is asking the court to exclude the evidence gathered by police.
Police maintain that Kekana's arrest was lawful.
