Mother of Sheng Siong founder dies at 91

Madam Ng Lye Poh, the mother of the founder of supermarket chain Sheng Siong, died on Sep 5. A wake was held at Woodlands Memorial, with a procession on Friday (Sep 11) afternoon. Ng's family reportedly said they would donate money given by wake attendees to charity under her name.

Madam Ng was kidnapped by two men in 2014 for a S$20 million ransom, which was then Singapore's first kidnap-for-ransom case in over a decade.  #sgnews #singapore
