Yes, so does this make Siders, Sr. another victim? And who was responsible for his neglect? Everyone keeps talking about the poverty, and yet the adults each had available government assistance that they didn’t take. I am all for people turning down government assistance, but if they choose that route, I assume it would mean that they wanted instead to work to support themselves and their own family. In this case, turning down government assistance meant starving their children. How far ignorance took this! Would their low level of education really result in the deplorable conditions the family was living in? What else is at play here? How did they spend their time? I just cannot imagine living their daily lives!

Lady this is for the attorney that's trying to make this man seem like he's a gentle giant and he didn't have a part in it.. we all know he had a freaking part in it! Whether he actually did something or he didn't it's both just as bad! He knew when he had his marbles that he didn't get help for those kids! Both of them are just as freaking bad!

The results of Gary Siders Sr. Cognitive assessment is extremely disappointing….. but expected. Unfortunately this means he won’t held responsible for his actions prior to his mental decline. <br><br>I wouldn’t be surprised if Christina Siders council goes down the same path of diminished capacity as well. We can only hope she will be found competent to stand trial and be held accountable for her role in this unholy mess.

It's my feeling that maybe the situation was some what under control while the grandparents were still functioning and the more the grandparents declined that's when everything got out of hand at least inside this household.

Why wasn't this detected before, 16 kids, someone had to notice. Sentence them all to life in a State Mental Hospital since only the criminally insane can go there. We treat the criminally insane but have NOTHING for long term in patient rehab to help the severely ill mentally ill who are not criminals. This MAKES NO SENSE! We are depriving the non criminal mentally ill of the care they need. What kind of a Country are we?!

What this means is that he is not capable of understanding the nature of the proceedings or participating in his own defense. What generally happens to people like this is they go to a mental hospital where they stay until they are deemed competent to stand trial. He isn't going home.

I don't know exactly what happened in the Siders household in that I don't have all the information, but on a human level, I'm glad he looks so much better. Gary Sr. wasn't getting the care he needed either.

This abuse and neglect has been going on for a very long time. I still wanna see the DNA results. In my cynical mind, he fathered some of those kids and was actively involved in the neglect. When the dollar store employees talk about him and his wife always been very clean, but Gary Junior and Elizabeth were always so smelly that really makes you wonder. They’re all living in the same house. Something just isn’t adding up here and he could very well be faking it. But again all of these crime stories have turned me into a cynic. So I hope I’m wrong.
