Make them retroactive. We regular people don't get to avoid law and legal changes because "it's too late", no it's not. Make them adapt, force these projects to invest in x times their usage or otherwise provide their own water / electricity. They don't like it? Too bad.
There is no proof of profitability in any AI model. There are applications, but there's also extraordinary waste like "AI partners". When this crashes we'll see who's left standing, but there's going to be a lot of stranded assets and economic turmoil between where we are now and where we'll end up. Put a cap on this crap now, we need a moratorium on data centres.
Australia doesn't have the water to waste on surveillance of the people for billionaire profits.
When was the last time there was a positive ai story by the abc? Seems like motivated propaganda these days
