Russian civilians panic as war hits home | Break the Fake

For years, Russia's war against Ukraine has been fought far from the streets of most Russian cities. But after a massive Ukrainian drone strike hit Novorossiysk, the war suddenly felt much closer to home.

The September 9 attack targeted key infrastructure in the port, including a fuel terminal and a naval base used by Russia's Black Sea Fleet. The strike lasted for hours. Fires broke out, sirens sounded, and local residents rushed to seek shelter. And naturally, complaints followed. Not about the destruction of Ukrainian cities. Not about the war Russia started. But about the inconvenience of having the war show up at home. The port is closed. The lights might go out. Fuel supplies could be disrupted. Suddenly, Russia's distant war does not seem quite so distant anymore.
