Indian historian: South-South trade is growing dramatically

Why does BRICS matter, and what could closer China-India cooperation mean for the world?

Vijay Prashad, Indian historian and executive director of Tricontinental: Institute for Social Research, highlighted the rapid growth of trade among countries in the Global South and its importance to the BRICS agenda during an interview with CGTN reporter Li Jingjing.

On China-India cooperation, Prashad pointed to areas including affordable medicines and the green transition, saying closer cooperation could help bring down costs.

"India and China coming together would produce an incredible boost for the world," he said.
