President William Ruto has defended the establishment of a US-funded ebola quarantine facility in Kenya, saying the American government has immensely supported Kenya's health infrastructure. Elsewhere, the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) has donated Ebola management and control equipment to Busia County, to strengthen preparedness against the deadly disease along the Kenya-Uganda border. According to the Ministry of Health, no case has been reported in the country so far. However, World Health Organization has announced progress after 6 patients were successfully treated and discharged in the Democratic Republic of Congo, and 2 patients have recovered and been discharged in Uganda.
