PM Wong explains why ministers’ salaries are benchmarked to top earners in Singapore

The political salary benchmark based on the top 1,000 Singaporean earners does not mean the government intends to recruit political leaders only from this group, said Prime Minister Lawrence Wong in parliament on Thursday (Sep 10) during a debate on changes to Singapore’s political salary framework.
