China is breeding police dogs built for extremes

From high-altitude plateaus to freezing frontiers, China is breeding native police dogs adapted to some of the country's toughest environments.
At the third public security tech expo, 12 native breeds were showcased, demonstrating skills in tracking, explosives detection, search and rescue, and more.

- Kunming Dog: An all-rounder and a leading Chinese police breed.
- Chinese Taicang Dog: Small, agile and suited to searches in tight spaces.
- Xizang Nyingchi Hound: Able to operate at elevations above 4,700 meters.
- Monan Sighthound: Cold-resistant, tolerating temperatures as low as -40°C.
