Workplace of today has changed, companies need to plan for gaps: Indranee Rajah

Workplaces today and in the future have to be more flexible as employees need time away to care for young children or ageing parents, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office Indranee Rajah said in parliament on Thursday (Sep 10).

She added that companies should also plan on the assumption that there may be manpower gaps at any given time, including those arising at short notice and consider how they can manage backfilling.

“The workplace of today has changed. We cannot work on the same paradigm and model as we have for the last 10 and 20 years,” she said.
