An oil tanker, the Panama-flagged New Andros, was struck in Iraqi territorial waters near Basra, resulting in a fire and minor hull damage, with tugboats and emergency teams responding to the incident. The oil tanker New Andros carrying about 2 million barrels of Iraqi fuel oil. All 22 crew members were reported safe with no injuries or deaths on this specific vessel.
