What i can remember from a BBC article end March 2022 is that the Russian army would pull back completely to the border of 22 Februari before they invaded, the Istanbul agreement that was almost completed had also other things from which most important Ukraine would stop seeking NATO-membership. With that agreement Putin would have succeeded to get what he wanted and that had to be prevented at all costs ..the end justifies the means. By the way,who knew the Ukranian people opposed NATO-,membership at the time it was decided over their backs in 2008 by Bush,Cheney,Wolfowitz,Pearl,Rumsfeld and so on. By which percentage? Average 66%!!!!! One survey??? NO, many surveys by different survey institutes for more than a decade!!!!!!!

Im not right by any means, but i can see the sign thar Merz and his party the CDU will not get an meaningfull amount of vote for the record that the CDU has build up. This is a bummer since far-right is lurking and losing an major player can be critical for democracy here in germany.
