Russians give ground near Lyman as Ukraine counterattacks | Ukraine Brief

Unconfirmed reports suggest Ukrainian forces have pushed Russian troops back from several positions around Lyman in the Donetsk region, according to the Institute for the Study of War.

Yet as Russian forces intensify their assaults, Ukrainian troops increasingly rely on unmanned ground vehicles to transport supplies along dangerous routes to the Donetsk region frontline, including near the city of Kramatorsk.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian forces have carried out a drone assault against the Russian naval base of Novorossiysk overnight into Wednesday. Nearby oil infrastructure was also reportedly targeted. 15 people were killed and over 90 injured in Russian strikes against Ukraine over the last day, with residential areas coming under heavy fire.
