The National Regulator for Compulsory Specifications says traders selling non-compliant, illicit and unsafe goods will face heavy prosecution and possible suspension from trading anywhere in South Africa.

This follows a series of sting operations on informal and formal traders in the North West. Consumers in Zeerust who elected to remain anonymous says consumers often buy without verifying safety standards.
