Lucas Legabe's bail application postponed in the 541kg cocaine consignment theft case

The Port Shepstone Magistrates' Court has postponed businessman Lucas Legabe's bail application to next Monday, when the court is expected to deliver its ruling.

Lucas Legabe was arrested last month following an investigation by the Hawks in Pretoria.

The case relates to the theft of a 541kg cocaine consignment, valued at about R200 million, which was seized in June 2021 after Hawks investigators were called to inspect a container at a container depot in Isipingo, south of Durban.
