Sibanye-Stillwater proposes restructure of SA PGM shaft, set to cut 1 114 jobs

Sibanye Stillwater Kwezi shaft in Rustenburg has reached its end of life after years of mining Platinum Group Metals (PGMs).

The mine says it is yet to commence a section 189, which is a retrenchment process, that will see over one-thousand workers left without work.

Sibanye Stillwater CEO, Richard Steward says that no final decision has been made yet and that the consultation process will examine ways to avoid or reduce job losses.
