India is undertaking a major modernisation of its railway network. Seven high-density corridors spanning around 11,000 km are being upgraded to four-line corridors, including key routes connecting Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata .Around 2,000 km has already been completed, nearly 5,000 km is under implementation, while DPRs are being prepared for the remaining 4,000 km: Union Minister @AshwiniVaishnawBJP
