Singapore needs a more coordinated food import policy and food redistribution ecosystem to address concerns over rising food costs, said MP for Sembawang West SMC Poh Li San during a motion on securing Singapore’s food future in parliament on Wednesday (Sep 9). She also called for greater use of the Good Samaritan Food Donation Act to redistribute more rescued food, prepare healthy meals for lower-income families and seniors, reduce their food expenses and keep them well-nourished. “Together, these add up to a holistic national food strategy,” Ms Poh said. #sgnews #singapore
