Ekurhuleni | Failure to reach quorum collapses council meeting

An ordinary council meeting of the City of Ekurhuleni collapsed after failing to reach a quorum.
Opposition parties walked out after being informed that the Speaker was absent for personal reasons. The Democratic Alliance, ActionSA and the Economic Freedom Fighters said they could not take part in, what they described as an illegal sitting. The City has rejected these claims, saying the meeting complied with its standing rules.
