Mpumalanga tackles literacy crisis in the province

The literacy crisis in Mpumalanga is being tackled one book at a time.

The provincial Education Department is using reading programmes to build a stronger culture of reading among pupils in schools.

Three years ago, it was found that 81 percent of Grade 4 learners in the country, cannot read for meaning in any language.
