LGE 2026 | IEC expects more parties to approach Electoral Cout

As panic hits political parties over candidate submissions, the IEC says it's expected that more parties may approach the Electoral Court to seek recourse over the online candidate submissions.

The commission says there are several parties in KwaZulu-Natal that missed the candidate deadline on August 28.

Close to 2,300 candidates from 45 political parties across the country failed to register on time and, according to the IEC, are currently disqualified from contesting the election.
