Eric Omondi arraigned at Milimani Law Courts

Proceedings in the Sh1.57 billion financial impropriety case involving National Treasury staff and business proprietors advanced at the Milimani Anti-Corruption Court, where Senior Principal Magistrate Rose Ndombi granted bail terms to two accused who were absent during initial plea-taking on 19 August 2026. The case involves embezzlement and fraudulent disbursement of 1.57 billion shillings from the Rural Outreach of Financial Innovations and Technologies (PROFIT) programme. Meanwhile, Kenyan comedian Eric Omondi pleaded not guilty to a charge of unlawfully obstructing operations of vehicles along Moi Avenue in Nairobi’s CBD. Omondi was jointly arrested with others on the 7th September 2026 along the Avenue while intensifying his “PUNGUZA MZIGO” campaigns.
