Journalists urged to uphold ethics ahead of 2027 elections

Journalists have been cautioned against becoming conduits for misinformation, disinformation, and incitement amid heightened political activities in the country ahead of the 2027 General Election. Speaking at KBC Sauti House in Mombasa during a meeting attended by KBC Managing Director Agnes Kalekye and journalists from various media organisations, Media Council of Kenya Chief Executive Officer David Omwoyo urged journalists to uphold the highest standards of professionalism and strictly adhere to the Media Code of Conduct Stressing that the media has a responsibility to provide the public with accurate, balanced and credible information.
