Russia’s occupation of Crimea and southern Ukraine has a very basic problem: sustaining fuel supplies.
Ukrainian drones are systematically targeting the logistics routes supplying Russian forces and occupied territories. Fuel trucks and tankers are being destroyed along the mainland corridor through Mariupol, putting growing pressure on a critical supply route. The consequences are reaching civilians too. In Crimea, people are reportedly waiting for hours at gas stations and facing strict fuel limits, while some tourists are desperately searching for enough diesel to get home.
In the new episode of Break The Fake, Benjamin Lee looks at how Ukraine’s drone campaign is disrupting Russia’s fuel logistics – and why Crimea is increasingly running on empty.
