A defense attorney I talked to said that mistrials are viewed as being about as good as an acquittal since the chances of conviction drop significantly if the first trial ended in a mistrial. The president can only pardon someone convicted of federal offenses. She got a mistrial in a state court, there's nothing to pardon at this time.
