It's offensive towards our local Singaporean Indian to lump them into this issue. Do not use race as a distraction from bad decisions made by SIA and Temasek.

WP ah tiong should spend more time on developing ideas that can contribute to the betterment of the people. He should avoid poking his nose into the affairs of a multi billion dollar commercial entity such as SIA. Will he poke his nose into DBS if the bank had some multi million dollar bad loans that the bank is trying to recover?

Suggest Jeffrey travel on SIA economy. There seems to be visible degradation of SIA services since the Air India investment. SIA must not fall into the gambler's trap, feeding some losses to mother of all losses. The investment officers in the Temasek and GIC need to guard against India whisperers that is having undue influence on our investment decisions. Macro economic indicators about India is deteriorating. India is so desperate that it is selling state assets. What looks good in the past is going to change, as many foreign investors are exiting India's overvalued markets. This exit may result into a flood. That is why India is desperate and raise interest deposit rates to attract NRI and OCI funds. The past income stream from the Middle East and IT outsourcing from other countries remittance to India will be reduced. There will be a continuous decline in the currency exchange risk in the INR. Much stronger diligence is needed by Singapore investors especially regarding India. If Air India is such an important investment, then SIA needs to make it conditional the India provide loans to the existing Air India if it needs more funds. Air India CEO and even Tata Chairman has resigned. It is not a rosy situation the investment officers need to think carefully, despite the spin by our government to defend SIA investment.

The minister questioned the opposition's lack of prudent business ideas for SIA to go forward. That's a valid argument. No opposition has ever been appointed to run a government organization and therefore can at best pose rhetorical questions in parliament, which I thought is an important first step. I would propose to Singaporeans to grant the opposition the opportunity to prove their worth by running government organizations. It's a risk for sure but Singaporeans have been shielded for too long and now need to mature up and bear some risk on our own.

I think this debate is out of scope for parliament. Should be at shareholders meeting
