United States President Donald Trump’s repeated dismissal of climate change as a hoax “is patently ridiculous to any reasonable person”, said former Vice-President Al Gore. The founder and chairman of The Climate Reality Project, a non-profit devoted to tackling the climate crisis, told CNA’s Julie Yoo on Monday (Sep 7) that the economic forces driving the green transition are proving resilient to Trump’s policies. With the US retreating from global climate initiatives, Gore said China has shown signs that it could take on a larger diplomatic role.
