WD-40 is a staple I&#39;ll never be without. One can in the house and one can in the toolbox of my car.

That&#39;s precious. You talk about using WD-40 on the hood hinges but you show it being sprayed on door hinges <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=avf69bYfr1c&amp;t=1369">22:49</a>. Just a little misleading don&#39;t you think?? Another thing, if you use WD-40 or any other lubricant on wheel nuts always be sure to clean it off after you get the nuts lose. If not, the wheel nuts can become lose and I think we all know where that&#39;s leading. Wheel studs and nuts are not meant to be lubricated. It creates a dangerous situation no one needs. As a battery terminal cleaner, it may remove some stuff but you really need to clean them properly. I use about a tablespoon of baking soda in a glass of water. I apply it to the battery terminals, the top of the battery and the battery posts and scrub with an old toothbrush. Then flush with clear cool water. Put Vaseline on the posts, replace the terminals and tighten then apply more to the terminals and the top of the posts. That&#39;s the only way I clean and protect the posts and terminals and cost less than the WD-40. It also cleans the area between the posts where an accumulation of battery acid and dirt can eventually cause the battery to discharge between the posts. Next thing you know you have a dead battery. I keep WD-40 around for very few circumstances. It has it&#39;s uses. Drive through water and the engine quits, spray the plug wires and coils with WD-40. It displaces moisture so the engine starts again. I agree with never using it on door and trunk seals. For that spray silicone spray around the seal, let it sit for a few minutes and wipe off. I do this every fall to also help stop the doors or trunk lid from freezing shut in cold weather. As for the 3 mistakes you mentioned, it&#39;s hard to imagine anyone doing any of those but some........ people do it anyway. I&#39;ve run into that a few times in my years as a licensed mechanic. A quick decision can cost you thousands of dollars in repairs and in the case of brakes, many thousands of dollars for repairs to not only your vehicle but the other vehicles involved in an accident and possibly hundreds of thousands or more if someone is hurt. Another bad one (going slightly off topic) is using ArmorAll on tires. Happened a lot years ago and caused some serious accidents. Thanks for the video. I kinda enjoyed the laughs.

Your repair shop dont care where or how you use WD 40. IT DOES work well on Rust spots. DONT SPRAY ON ELECTRIC CAN cause major problems. All platics are not Happy with the use of WD40!!!

Just insert the slender red extension into the spray nozzle opening of your can of WD-40 and jam it straight thru your right eyeball, spraying in short, quick bursts, until it can&#39;t go any deeper, because if you thought it would be a good idea to spray it in your ear to displace water, the water on your brain is probably a bigger issue...

Absolutely do not take this for what he says. He is referring to wd40 as a brand. Take the throttle body for example. You should never ever ever wvwr spray the regular wd40 into the throttle body. ONLY use products labeled throttle body cleaners. Thats just one example. Also look at the can for the electrical components. Its contact cleaner which is used to clean electrical contacts. This is either sponsored by WD40 or he doesn’t exactly know what hes talking about. Trust me and do actual reserch before using any product for something important.

My kid&#39;s Intimidator leaks during heavy rain we got a car cover since we got no garage like the previous owner. I never actually thought of the door seal being the problem bc the 2004 Monte Carlo SS I have but sits now leaked too &amp; we were told the leak was the drain tube. The front driver&#39;s side always got wet 1st. I assumed hers was the same issue only the back seat will get wet on the driver&#39;s side but on the passenger side u can watch the water drip from the bottom of the door. It was about a month ago I noticed a rust spot in the door hinge on the passenger side I don&#39;t believe was there prior to us purchasing the car it will be a year this Oct. If the original owner knew of this I believe we would of been told idk. I assume bc it was garage kept he never knew of the issue.

WD stands for water displacement an WD40 can solve problems. But left on mechanisms it can turn to sticky gummy residue and cause stuck parts. Don&#39;t use on firearms.

This was way to confusing sometimes they show a guy spraying wd on the window trim and then at the end they tell you not to spray it on the caskets which is it😮

This is bullshit, wd40 will cause the paint to peel-off after a while, it penetrates under the paint and results in a bigger rust spot. Wd-40 also penetrates some plastoc parts and breaks it down.

The best stuff for dealing with rust is rust check. For removing rust to get nuts or stuck bolts is deep creep the best I have ever used. WD 40 is like fish oil and makes more rust. It has its use but not always good. Iam 67 and find rust check and and deep creep are the best. There is a throttle body cleaner. This is just a commercial for WD 40.
