The Phokwane Local Municipality in Hartswater, Northern Cape, has warned residents against illegal land occupation.

This follows desperate pleas for basic services from residents who have illegally occupied municipal land.

But the municipality insists that the occupied area is not for human settlement, which makes service delivery almost impossible.
