Ukrainian drones have struck deep inside Russia again – this time targeting Perm and one of the country’s major oil refineries.
The attack hit the Lukoil refinery, a massive facility capable of processing more than 13 million tonnes of crude oil every year. More than half of its petroleum products are exported, making the refinery an important part of Russia's energy industry. As Ukraine continues expanding its long-range drone campaign against Russian energy infrastructure, attacks on major refineries are putting additional pressure on one of the key sectors supporting Russia’s economy and war effort.
