Fight against FGM gains momentum in Meru County

The fight against female genital mutilation, early marriages and sexual and gender-based violence is gaining momentum in Meru County. Shining Hope for Communities, SHOFCO, in partnership with the Meru County Government, is establishing a 48-bed safe house in Igembe Central to provide protection and support for survivors. The move comes as the county grapples with rising cases of sexual and gender-based violence.
