Residents of Romos and Morita in West Pokot County took to the streets expressing concerns over incidents of rising insecurity. The irate residents claim that so far 7 people have been killed within a span of one week, in a fresh wave of bandit attacks along the West Pokot-Turkana border. Carrying twigs and chanting “Haki Yetu”, the residents are accusing security agencies of laxity, which is costing them lives and property losses. They are calling for immediate deployment of security officers, National Police Reservists and the establishment of a police post in the area to respond to the rampant attacks.
