Pharmaceutical Association and Pharmaceutical technologists threaten to down tools

The Kenya Pharmaceutical Association and the Kenya National Union of Pharmaceutical Technologists have threatened industrial action on Thursday over new guidelines restricting diploma-trained practitioners from handling medicines in higher-level health facilities. The associations say the guidelines adopted by the Pharmacy and Poisons Board could affect more than 11,000 practitioners, with some pharmaceutical functions restricted to degree holders.
