Free State | Skills contest shapes future artisans

The Free State has put learners and teachers to the test in a technical skills competition, as part of efforts to contribute to the country's skills development drive and produce more artisans.

A total of 103 learners and 63 teachers were subjected to gruelling skills tests in various trades, including construction, automotive, woodwork, plumbing, electricity and welding.

The schools' competition aims to showcase and strengthen practical skills, while identifying the province's top talent.

Winners of the provincial competition will go on to represent the Free State at national level.
