LGE 2026 | UDM announces Yongama Zigebe as its Joburg mayoral candidate

National Chairperson of the United Democratic Movement and PR Councillor in the City of Johannesburg, Yongama Zigebe, has been announced as the party's mayoral candidate for Johannesburg in the November local government elections.

Zigebe also previously served as the UDM's National Secretary-General.

The announcement was made by the party's deputy President, Nqabayomzi Kwankwa, in Alexandra today.

Kwankwa has encouraged Zigebe to take the UDM's message to communities across the city, saying the party is ready to listen, work and govern.
