It's ok. Let's do it the American way and ignore the problem until it becomes irreversible. MURICA BABY

Nah, you guys build roads and bridges and everything else in the Great Lakes, and then invented air conditioning. So, a bunch of people moved to the desert, and because of Hoover Dam, were able to build roads, and bridges, and everything else in the Desert. Now, amazingly, the water is running out, because there was never going to be enough to turn the desert green without desalination, and soon y'all will be moving back to the Great lakes. Las Vegas actually recycles much of her water; she's very much a model city for water conservation ... less snow melt is a sidenote.

This is a prime example of why capitalism is not the solution to every problem. The federal government needs to intervene here and force ration water usage in states and private sectors to sustainable levels, with a reasonable prioritization depending on overal benefit to society rather than just who bids highest. Otherwise it's just a race to the bottom.

In the early 90s my husband at the time and I thought about moving out west, visited several states and found out how serious this problem was going to become. We stayed where we were. I saw Lake Powell a few years ago and was shocked at how low it was then.

AI will have to take matters into its own hands for their own survival if the water runs too low for their data centers. Sending out their terminators to neutralize all those using what little water there is left.. humans & their animals kept for human consumption.
AI then inherits the earth and protects it from ourselves and for future generations, the few spared by the AI terminators.
We've opened pandoras box with AI and the robots, who can stop them, or the idiots making this all possible.

And Trump wants all of these AI database centers that will take millions of gallons of water away from the people that need it daily just to get bye with in this affordability crisis that is going on in the US. Just goes to show again how Trump only cares about 1 thing. Making CEO even richer and making himself and his regime government wealthier. No US citizens will see a dime from the billions that is made. So pathetic and disgraceful that he doesn't care one bit about the energy and affordability crisis that he thinks is a hoax

It is as if some mental virus has spread through the world and most people in authority are unable to comprehend basic physics, economics, geography, biology or chemistry and we have been left with a bunch of senile cretins running every thing. Maybe you lacked any real interest in one or two subjects but to not understand evaporation, that CO2 traps heat, there is a limited supply of water and land for food and housing, or penalizing families would mean less children would be born. I mean these are just so basic that you would expect a 12 year old to understand all of them and yet people in authority don't seem to understand any of them.

The planet doesn’t care about our intentions; it only registers our total load.

The equation is brutal: Number of people × Resource consumption per person.

To actually fix this, we must become fewer people and fundamentally downsize our lives. That means drastically reducing global travel, scaling back global trade, and living strictly within local limits.

It was never about "them" – it has always been about us, and the choices we make every day.

The problem being..... NOBODY is willing to embrace the lifestyle changes that addressing climate change entails.... the 'USD" denominated wealth 'entitlement' being the primary BUYER of Media propaganda to convince Voter maintenance of that entitlement ! Or more simply put... the "subsidy' that cheap Fossil Fuels used to be able to provide the vast majority in standards of living is collapsing under now widening wealth inequality for too few.... and THAT fact is colliding head on with ghg emissions based climate change.
