Saxony-Anhalt #election puts #Germany’s history in the spotlight

Voters in Saxony-Anhalt head to the polls on September 6 in a regional election that could have implications far beyond the ballot box. Among the issues at stake is education, with the AfD calling for changes to how German history is taught at schools.

The party says it wants a different approach to Germany’s World War II past – raising questions over what future history textbooks could look like if the AfD takes power in the state.
