Nullification is often seen as being “illegal“; as well as, the judges instructions as being some kind of gospel… The jury is in that room and they have 100% of the power to nullify, ignore or look at the facts. That is why we have a jury system. However, when you have a society with declining morals and shades of gray on right and wrong, you’re going to get these kind of situations. I also don’t agree with mistrials being retried. I believe that the prosecution has one shot at getting a conviction and that’s it. That being said I have no sympathy for this XX who murdered her children. She’s going to have to live with that one way or the other for the rest of her life. Lastly, I will say this to to our lovely XX’s, if you want to say that XX’s cannot control their behavior with their own children, don’t lecture us about any kind of leadership roles that you think XX’s are qualified for. I believe the jury was intimidated to vote not guilty… That’s just my take on it.
