Anak Krakatau eruption leaves hundreds stranded at Jakarta airport

Hundreds of passengers were stranded at Jakarta’s Soekarno-Hatta International Airport on Sunday (Sep 6) after volcanic ash from the eruption of Anak Krakatau forced authorities to suspend flight operations. Some passengers said they were not informed of the cancellations beforehand.

Airport authorities provided food and refreshments, opened rest areas and worked with airlines to arrange hotel accommodation for affected travellers. #indonesia #indonesianews
