Muslims around the world celebrate the birth of Prophet Muhammad

Calls for unity and compassion dominated the celebration of the birth of Prophet Muhammad in Nairobi as Muslim faithful joined their counterparts around the world to mark the special day known as Mawlid or Zefe. The celebrations in Nairobi were organized by Muslim Badalla Jamat, who pledged to build more madrassas to teach the importance of humanity, tolerance and coexistence regardless of religion and race in honour of Prophet Muhammad.
