*The South African Police Service will honour 12 police officers who died in the line of duty at the Unions Buildings in Pretoria today.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will be among the dignitaries who will join the families and colleagues of the police officers who lost their lives in period between 1st April last year to the 31st March this year.
The formal proceedings are expected to start at 10 o'clock in the morning.

*Some members of the Portfolio Committee on Justice and Constitutional Development say the Acting Head of the Investigating Directorate Against Corruption, Advocate Ntuthuzelo Vanara must prioritise rebranding the image of the instutition.
This after the resignation of Adv Andrea Johnson, amid growing scrutiny following her testimony before the Madlanga Commission of Inquiry.

*Another above inflation electricity tariff hike could be on the cards for consumers if Eskom gets its way.
The power utility is seeking to effect the higher tariff adjustment approved by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa.

*Protesters marched through Dakar yesterday, carrying empty calabashes and containers in a demonstration against the rising cost of living. Women broke calabashes during the march, while others sang the national anthem and held signs reading "Against the high cost of living".
