The US military says the strikes were carried out after Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) launched ballistic missiles toward two US Navy vessels. CENTCOM says the targeted tankers were part of a network used to generate revenue for the IRGC. Iran had not commented on the US claims at the time of reporting.
