Eskom seeks 8.8% electricity tariff hike

Another above inflation electricity tariff hike could be on the cards for consumers if Eskom gets its way.

The power utility is seeking to effect the higher tariff adjustment approved by the National Energy Regulator of South Africa.

Eskom wants to increase electricity tariffs by an average of 8.8% from April 2027.

Nersa is now consulting on the proposed adjustment.
