I was Chief Minister then, but I was also a member of the country’s principal Opposition party. Perhaps many expected me to launch a long, sweeping attack on the Central Government and level a series of allegations. But, despite being in the Opposition and a critic of the government of the day, I did not use this platform for that purpose. Instead, I presented a vision and spoke positively. Whatever I said then reflected my conviction. I have always lived by those thoughts and dreams and continued to walk that path.
