Chinese mainland slams Taiwan DPP authorities' reports as separatist pretext

The Chinese mainland has condemned authorities in the Taiwan region for deliberately distorting facts, after they released the "2026 PLA Military Power Report" and the "Five-Year Force Buildup and Administration Plan Report," which accuse the PLA of regularly deploying ships and aircraft around the island for combat readiness patrols.

Chinese Defense Ministry spokesperson Jiang Bin said on Friday that the reports are a pretext for the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities to stoke war fears and push their separatist agenda through military means. "Taiwan is an inalienable part of China," he added.
